For time – dependent studies, in order to assess a company’s performance across years, the average across companies’s blogs or social media efforts and the standard deviation across companies’ blogs are calculated for a reference year or quarter (usually the initial time point) (see Nardo, Saisana, Saltelli, and Tarantola, 2005, p. 47)
