Technorati Authority
The ComMetrics Footprint is a measure made up of statistics from:
Google PageRank, Technorati Ranking, Technorati Authority (you are here), Yahoo! InLinks and Google Blog Search.
This information is calculated into an overall score. Click here to find out how we process the raw data.
Technorati Authority analyzes the number of links coming to you from other sites. The more blogs that link to yours, the higher your Technorati Authority.
However, this system uses the number of blogs pointing at a particular URL (i.e. your blog) in the last 180 days. This is a problem if you have many links from one particular blog such as ComMetrics.com, because these all count as one for your Technorati Authority score, so it is better to have a single link from 100 different blogs. Any links older than 180 days are not included.
It is important to remember that a blog’s Technorati Authority score is used to calculate its Technorati Ranking.
P.S. – Not every single blog around the world may have been entered in the Technorati database. Generally, blog owners must add their blog to the database. Thereafter, Technorati will track and give the blog an Authority score.
